LAE Faculty Forum Series presents 'Da Vinci, LLC: New Testament Profits'
PLATTEVILLE - On Tuesday, Sept. 19 from 5-6:30 p.m. in 103 Doudna Hall, the College of Liberal Arts and Education (LAE) of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville will present the first lecture in their Faculty Forum Series, "Da Vinci, LLC: New Testament Profits." George Smith, professor of speech communication in the fine arts department, will present his research on the topic. Shane Drefcinski, professor of philosophy in the humanities department, will respond to Smith's presentation. The audience will be encouraged to ask questions and make comments during the last half hour of the lecture.
The LAE Faculty Forum is a program newly instituted in fall 2004, and the September lecture will be the first of seven scheduled this academic year. The purpose of the forum is to allow faculty to present information in their research areas to university faculty, staff, students and community members.
"We have been very pleased with the numbers of students and faculty members in attendance at the forums. We have also been pleased with the number of emeriti faculty who come, and we would like to increase the number of community members in attendance," said Mittie Nimocks, LAE dean.
