Women in Shadow and Light presentation to be given April 26

PLATTEVILLE - On April 26, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville will be hosting the event "Women in Shadow and Light: Journeys from Abuse to Healing," in honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Beginning at 6 p.m. in the Harry and Laura Nohr Gallery at the Ullsvik Center, Jan Goff-LaFontain author of "Women in Shadow and Light," and Jeanne Kuhns, creator of the musical CD "Lost Moth Found," will combine their talents of photography and music in an inspiring presentation of survival and healing.

According to the flyer announcing this event, "These women are dedicated to bringing awareness and healing through art. Their work is a powerful testament to the courage of domestic violence and sexual assault survivors everywhere." Between 6 and 7 p.m., there will be a reception where refreshments will be served. The presentation will begin at 7 p.m. and last until 8:30 p.m. The Campus Bookstore will have copies of the book, "Women in Shadow and Light," available for purchase during the reception.
