UWP's online engineering program named one of top 25 best buys

PLATTEVILLE - The University of Wisconsin-Platteville's online master of engineering program has been named one of the 2005 "Top 25 Best Buys in Online Engineering Degrees" by GetEducated.com (www.geteducated.com). The respected website, which acts as a clearinghouse for accredited online degree programs, based its ranking on their biennial survey of distance learning programs. The schools chosen had tuition rates significantly lower than the national average for similarly accredited distance degrees.

UWP's online master of engineering program is an interdisciplinary degree, providing professional development in mathematics, technical communications, computer applications, and engineering management. An emphasis in Applications of Engineering Management provides the skills that are needed in managing technical projects. An Engineering Design emphasis provides in-depth technical knowledge about design engineering solutions, while an emphasis in Control Systems provides the skills necessary to design automated equipment. An emphasis in Structural/Geotechnical Engineering prepares engineers for the changes in AASHTO regulations that will go into effect in 2007. For more information about these emphasis areas, visit www.uwplatt.edu/disted/ or contact Lisa Riedle, program coordinator, atengineering@uwplatt.edu or 800-362-5460.

UWP offers four accredited degrees at a distance: a bachelor of science in business administration, a master of science in criminal justice, a master of engineering, and a master of science in project management. No campus visits are required. For more information, visit online at www.uwplatt.edu/disted/, call 800-362-5460 or e-mail disted@uwplatt.edu.
