LAE dean's dinner to feature artists, entertainers and silent auction

PLATTEVILLE - Mittie Nimocks, dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Education at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, is hosting the first ever LAE Dean's Dinner on July 23 in the Ullsvik Center from 5 to 7:30 p.m. The evening will feature a wine and cheese tasting and silent auction from 5 to 6 p.m., followed by a buffet dinner and musical program from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
The dinner is designed to raise money for the LAE Development Fund, which will support faculty and staff development, student activities, college events and promotional activities. According to Laura Anderson, assistant dean for LAE and member of the organizing committee, the college hopes to attract more UWP alumni and friends back to campus and keep them involved in ongoing LAE events.
"We look forward to seeing past graduates from our college and we plan to have representatives from every department and program on hand to greet them. I think people will enjoy the opportunity to mingle with old classmates and professors and to get caught up with what individual departments are doing," Anderson said. The auction will feature UW-Platteville faculty and student artwork and the performance at dinner will feature UWP musicians.
The cost of the evening is $25 per person, which includes a $10 contribution to the LAE Development Fund. Anyone interested in learning more about the event may call the LAE dean's office at (608) 342-1151 or the UWP Foundation at (608) 342-1031.
