UWP Distance Learning Center to participate in informational meetings

PLATTEVILLE - This spring, University of Wisconsin-Platteville Distance Learning Center faculty and staff will be traveling throughout the region, attending informational sessions regarding its distance learning program. The meetings - to be hosted by UWP alumni - will be informal, providing a venue for prospective students to meet current students and distance learning alumni, and to interact with UWP faculty and staff.

The first informational gathering is scheduled for 6-8 p.m. on March 16, at the Marriot Bentley's Grill in Racine. The second meeting will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30, at the Rockford Country Club in Rockford, Ill. Future sessions are scheduled in Stevens Point, on April 11; in Madison on April 27 (tentative); and in Bettendorf, Iowa, on May 2. For more information, contact Heidi Tuescher-Gille at tuescheh@uwplatt.edu.

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville has been a pioneer in distance education, offering a degree with integrity for more than 25 years. The Distance Learning Center meets the educational needs of nontraditional students who are working full-time, have a family, are involved in their communities, and are trying to fit a college degree into an already very busy life. Many are earning their degree to be eligible for promotions, changes in jobs/careers, and/or for professional development.

UWP offers four degrees at a distance: an undergraduate business administration degree and graduate degrees in criminal justice, engineering and project management. For more information, visit www.uwplatt.edu/disted, call 800-362-5460 or e-mail distmarket@uwplatt.edu.
