The Brownies attended sessions such as "Cookie Factory" hosted by Industrial Engineering students, fingerprinting with the Criminal Justice Association, learning about plants with the Biology Club, "Color and Chemicals" with the Alchemists and "Balloon Powered Cars" with the Math Club.

The Juniors attended similar sessions including "Why airplanes fly?" with the Society of Physics students, "Egg Safety" with the Society of Automotive Engineers, "Colors and Chemicals" with the Alchemists, "Cloning Fern Plants" with the Horticulture Club and "Barbie Bungee Jump" with the Society of Women in Engineering.

"Each of the student groups puts together a hands-on demonstration for the girls to teach them an aspect of science related to their respective fields," said Barb Barnet, UWP coordinator for Girl Scout Science and Technology Day. This year's event was a success with over 170 Brownies and Girl Scouts in attendance. For more information regarding Girl Scout Science and Technology Day, please contact Barnet at (608) 342-1942.
