PLATTEVILLE-The University of Wisconsin-Platteville French and German clubs are hosting the eighth annual Fasching/Carnaval on Thursday, Feb. 3 for students, staff and community members. This celebration is similar to Mardis Gras, which is held every year just prior to the beginning of the Christian Lenten season.

A variety of international culinary delights will be featured, along with live music by the Grant County Brass Band, and participants may wear costumes for this festive occasion.

The event begins at 5 p.m. in the Ullsvik Center, and the music will begin at 6 p.m. Admission is free and families are welcome. For more information, contact Patrick Hagen at (608) 342-1116 or e-mail hagenp@uwplatt.edu.
