SOL brings influences to UWP

PLATTEVILLE - Where can someone experience sizzling skillets of spicy authentic foods, the blaze of swirling colors from dancers, and a student group enthusiastic about their culture? Attend the annual Student Organization of Latinos (SOL) Hispanic Heritage Month dinner on Wednesday, Oct. 13, to experience all these sights and sounds as well as many more opportunities.

Dinner begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Velzy Commons of the Ullsvik Center. The menu includes ground beef tacos with hard or soft shells as well as a variety of condiments. Refried beans, Mexican rice, chicken enchiladas, tortilla chips with fresh salsa, fried plantains and horchata, will also be offered. Following dinner will be entertainment by a dance troupe called Ballet Folklorico.

Attending the Hispanic Heritage Month Dinner is free, but requires a ticket. Tickets are available in the MERC office on the first floor of Warner Hall. Please call (608) 342-1555 if there are any questions, or to reserve tickets. Tickets are limited, so please reserve them as soon as possible.
