Faculty exchange brings professor to UWP

PLATTEVILLE - A faculty exchange program between the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and Mississippi Valley State University will bring new faces to the respective campuses during the week of Oct. 11-15.

Saliba Mukoro, chair of the MVSU Department of Criminal Justice, will come to southwestern Wisconsin to experience faculty life at UWP, while UW-Platteville criminal justice professor Tom Jonas will travel to the predominately black college in Itta Bena, Miss., to teach graduate level courses. First opened in 1950, MVSU is located in the heart of the Mississippi delta, approximately 100 miles north of Jackson and 120 miles south of Memphis, Tenn.

All UWP faculty and administration are invited to a light lunch reception with the visiting professor at noon, Wednesday, Oct. 13, in University Room North of the Pioneer Student Center. The reception with professor Mukoro is sponsored by the College of Liberal Arts and Education and the Department of Criminal Justice.
