UWP hosts Pioneer Summer Music Camp

PLATTEVILLE- The University of Wisconsin-Platteville will be hosting a summer music camp June 20-26.

Campers will participate in a performing ensemble (band, string orchestra, or choir), take master classes, sectionals, and a basic theory class. Campers will also participate in a mass camp choir along with recreational activities.

The choral and instrumental staff are experienced teachers who will help students gain knowledge, improve tone, technique, and musicianship. The camp director is Dr. Barry Ellis.

Students entering grades seven through 12 or graduating seniors may apply for the band. Students applying for choir or string orchestra must be at least entering the ninth grade or above.

Applications will be accepted through June 4. The cost for the camp is $315 for those staying overnight in the residence halls, and $135 for commuters.
