Summer football camps to be held at UWP

PLATTEVILLE- The University of Wisconsin-Platteville is recognized for being the former practice site for the NFL team the Chicago Bears. In the same facility as the Bears once practiced, UWP will offer a variety of summer football camps under the direction of UWP head coach, Mike Emendorfer.

On June 19, UWP will offer a 7-on-7 Passing Team Camp for grades nine through 12. This camp consists of teams who will develop their skills in the passing game both offensively and defensively, and improve the overall skills of the team. The cost to attend is $10 per player, and teams should send in their registration card by June 14.

The Quarterback/Wide Receiver Passing Academy is offered for players in grades seven to 12 on June 26. This one-day camp is for quarterbacks and wide receivers to practice their skills. The cost to attend is $50 for the fist camper, and $45 for an additional teammate or friend when registration cards are sent in together. Registration cards must be received by June 21.

On June 26, UWP will offer the Offensive/Defensive Linemen Passing Game Academy for players in grades seven to 12. This camp is for offensive and defensive linemen to focus on practicing fundamentals, pass blocking and pass rushing. The cost to attend is $50 for the fist camper, and $45 for an additional teammate or friend when registration cards are sent in together. Registration cards must be received by June 21.

The All-Position Passing Camp is offered to players in grades nine to 12 on July 26 and 27. This overnight/commuter camp focuses on the passing game and offensive and defensive techniques. The cost for commuters to attend is $50 for the fist camper, and $45 for an additional teammate or friend when registration cards are sent in together. Overnight cost is $85 for the first camper and $80 for an additional teammate or friend when registration cards are sent in together. Registration cards must be received by July 19.
