EMS award nomination deadline nears

PLATTEVILLE - Each fall during the Homecoming fish fry, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville College of Engineering, Mathematics, and Science honors EMS faculty by giving out up to four EMS Alumni Chapter Awards, and EMS Alumni Chapter Emeriti Honoree Awards.

The EMS Alumni Chapter Award recognizes EMS alumni who have made a significant contribution in one of four categories. They are outstanding educator or researcher, outstanding service to government or public service, outstanding entrepreneur or businessperson, and exceptional humanitarian. No more than one award is given per year per category. Persons may be nominated by UWP alumni, faculty, staff, students, student organizations, or their employer.

The Emeriti Honoree Program recognizes outstanding emeriti faculty from the college of EMS. The approximately 54 eligible faculty listed on the webpage may be nominated by UWP faculty, staff, students, student organizations, or alumni.

Other information, criteria, and nomination forms regarding these awards may be found under the awards section at http://www.uwplatt.edu/ems/alumni/index.html. Nominations are due May 31 to the UWP Alumni Office.
