Heaton returns as part of Acoustic Wednesday

PLATTEVILLE-Anne Heaton has been connected with a variety of musical styles since she was three-years-old. The University of Wisconsin-Platteville's Center for the Arts is offering an opportunity for all to hear Heaton, free of charge, on Wed. Feb. 18 in the Pioneer Haus Brew Pub, between 8 and 10 p.m.

Heaton claims Chicago as her hometown and studied classical piano until entering Notre Dame, at which point singing in a cover band took over during her college years. After graduation she combined instrumental with singing and embarked on a singer/songwriter career in New York City.

Not stopping there, Heaton attended City College in Harlem to strengthen her music history and learn different styles. She then played in a Latin band and sang with a jazz group.

Frank Marotta, Jr. will be playing guitar with Heaton in her return performance at UWP.

A preview concert will take place in the Pioneer Crossing at noon, with her later performance at 8 p.m. Both concerts are free of charge to UWP students, faculty, staff, and general public. Food and beverages will be available from the Pioneer Haus. For more information contact the Performing & Visual Arts Office at (608) 342-1267.
