The NCCRD facility is proudly located in Ottensman Hall at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. Here students, academic staff, and faculty engage in collaborative research alongside the public and private sectors.

The NCCRD labs are located on the second and third floors. Our labs have continuously expanding capabilities with new additions in staff and equipment. We have dedicated areas of research including:

  • Li-ion batteries
  • Coatings utilizing dip coating, spin coating, spray coating, and self-assembly techniques
  • Self-assembly of nanoparticles for applications in energy storage
  • Composite materials fabrication and testing
  • Photovoltaics utilizing liquid-phase dispersions of graphene, carbon nanotubes, metal oxides, and chalcogenides
  • Analysis of solution properties including Hansen parameters, sedimentation, and creation of optimized dispersions of various 1D, 2D, and 3D materials
  • Fabrication and analysis of micron-scale electronic devices
  • Optical goniometry challenging the current limits of surface tension accuracy
  • Optical spectroscopy of various nano-materials (Raman, FTIR, photoluminescence, etc.)
