The University of Wisconsin-Platteville Department of Performing and Visual Arts will host its annual UW-Platteville Tri-State Honors Band Festival on Feb. 15-16, 2013. Once again we will provide housing, meals and complete supervision for your selected students. This also includes transportation to and from UW-Platteville and their motel. The festival will begin on the morning of Feb 15 with registration and placement auditions. The audition is given to determine chair placement within the part that will be mailed to you for your students. The closing session will be in the afternoon of Feb. 16 and will feature our honor band. You and your accomplished students are invited to participate.
The festival is structured to provide a rewarding musical experience for the most talented high school instrumentalists (Grades 9-12). All students selected to participate in the band must be nominated by their directors. Student participants will be assigned parts based on their returned application form. Those parts will be mailed to you, the director, for your students to practice. The audition will determine chair placement within the part that they have prepared.
We request that the directors use the student registration forms to nominate your most talented students. We guarantee that we will accept a minimum of two students from each school. Forms are due by Jan. 21, 2013. Nominations that arrive after that date will be considered only if there is a need for additional personnel to balance instrumentation.

It will be an inspiring two days for the young musicians as well as their teachers. All the festival events will be housed on the UW-Platteville campus. A $70 registration fee for each student participating at the festival is all inclusive. For those who do not need housing, a $50 fee includes meals only. Please do not send any registration fees for the students you nominate with the enclosed form. Student registration fees will be payable after nominees are notified of their selection. All nominations must be in our hands by Jan. 21, 2013. Students accepted for participation will be notified by Feb. 1, 2013. Please help us serve your students by submitting the forms at your earliest convenience.
