If you love music and think you want to take it to a professional level, whether it be performing, conducting or teaching, UW-Platteville may be the place for you! UW-Platteville offers a supportive environment with emphasis on personal relationships for studying music. UW-Platteville provides a close-knit yet challenging program for its students. UW-Platteville has more than 100 music majors and minors and lots of students who simply love to develop their musical talent.
Practice brings opportunities
Students have ample opportunities to perform in a wide variety of bands, choirs and ensembles. Students also have the opportunity to take on leadership roles in some productions like the Marching Pioneers and spring musical as drum majors or assistant music directors. Each year the department presents more than 100 performances including the ever popular, Holiday Gala.
Our outstanding faculty of performers, composers and music educators are proud of the individual attention they can provide their students. A unique feature of UW-Platteville is we provide the opportunity for students to learn in small class settings and get lots of one-on-one attention from professors who inspire learning and truly want you to succeed. There are numerous faculty-student collaborative opportunities.
