Journalism Class

Journalism has changed radically in the early 21st century, but there will always be a need for the journalist who pursues the best obtainable version of the truth and tells a compelling story. Students in the journalism emphasis understand the need for fair, accurate reporting coupled with the ability to tell the story in print, video, and social media. Graduates of the program enjoy careers in editing, reporting, publishing, advertising, public relations, and more. The journalism minor attracts students from other majors with an interest in writing for publication. Journalism students are required to complete an internship and are encouraged to participate in the Exponent, our campus newspaper, which is open to all majors.
