Article Indexes

Article indexesA list of topics referring to a document; can be found in electronic or print formats (also called periodicalPeriodicals are publications issued at least twice a year, including journals, magazines, and newspapers indexes) include the citations of articles in magazines, journals and newspapers.

Some indexes contain abstracts or brief summaries of the articles. A few contain the full text or entire content of whole articles as they originally appeared in the periodical.

Online article indexes (also called electronic databasesA way of electronically organizing information), purchased by Karrmann Library, are accessible from the library web site. The library also owns print indexes, good for researching older materials. For example, the New York Times Index goes back to 1851!
