ILLiad - New Interlibrary Loan System Saves Time!

Top

The new system for one UW library to borrow items from another library, ILLiad, has been serving the interlibrary loan needs for the UWP community for several months.

"Using ILLiad saves a lot of time," reports Melissa, a senior majoring in Music Education.

Lori Wedig in the Periodicals/Interlibrary Loan Department notes that, "ILLiad is a wonderful resource for the UW-Platteville faculty, staff, and students because it allows them to track the status of their requests from the time they are placed until they arrive or are cancelled."

In the Presence of My Enemiesby Gracie Burnham with Dean Merrill (2003)

Gracie tells the true story of terror in the Philippines that she and her husband, Martin, encountered as they were roused out of bed at gunpoint, kidnapped, held captive for more than a year by the Abu Sayyaf, a terrorist group.

Without warm clothing, facing starvation, and chained to a tree each night despite painful body sores and intestinal viruses, they never knew if or when their captors might behead them.

Her open and honest writing details how they struggled to live the faith they had gone as missionaries to proclaim. They discovered the true condition of their own hearts and, they believe, of the heart of God.

This book is a very touching experience that will allow one to find hope and encouragement.
