The Instructional Materials Laboratory Collections

Circulation

Most materials in the IML circulate except magazines and reference resources. The period for check out is 28 days for the majority of the items, however a few collections, such as the profession collection, tests, and textbooks have a 7 day check out period. There are also reserve items that have a two-hour limit and should be viewed in the library. All materials may be renewed up to two times if no one has placed a request on the item. Items are checked out and returned to the IML’s circulation service desk. Items may also be returned to Karrmann Library. Area residents, who are older than 18 years, may obtain a special borrower’s card by filling out a form and showing a driver’s license. A card will be mailed to them. All patrons must have their ID with them in order to check out materials. While we do not charge fines, if a book is late more than 21 days, a lost book notice will be mailed to them with a $20 processing fee included on the bill. If an item is returned after the 21 days, the $20 will still remain until the patron has cleared the fee. If a patron has two or more items overdue, they will not be able to check out additional items.
