USERNAME & Password
Your university credentials (username and password) are known as a NetID.
Once your official NetID has been issued, you will no longer use the provisional account you were issued upon admission.
Passwords expire every 180 days. You will receive notification 10, 5, and 1 day prior to expiration. If it expires, you will need to bring a photo ID to the ITS Help Desk or ResNet to have it re-set.
You should never share your UW-Platteville password with anyone. If you learn your account is compromised, change your password and contact the Help Desk immediately.
UW-Platteville offers three ways to connect wirelessly. Log into our fastest connection, UWPlatt, with your NetID.
Each semester, a portion of your tuition is allotted for printing on campus printers. You may monitor your print balance online.
By default, in labs, nearby printers should be installed to lab computers. They are identified by building code, location, and type.
For example, KAR2ndWest would be on the second floor of Karmmann library and print in black and white. ULS2118_Color would be in Ulsvik 2118 and prints in color.
If you want to print to a campus printer from a personal computer, see this installation tutorial or contact the Help Desk.
As a student, you are allotted 1GB of personal network storage commonly known as the J: drive. It is labeled with your username and provides a convenient and safe place to back up your work.
Storage is backed up regularly. We recommend you keep important papers and presentations in your online storage. Whereas Lab computers are subject to change and hard drives can fail, the files on your Online Storage will stay safe.
On a Windows lab computer, your storage can be found: Start Button > Computer
To access off-site: uwplatt.edu/go/storage
