Innovation Grant Received for One Touch Studio

Construction is underway on UW-Platteville’s first one touch recording studio thanks to a $19,300 grant from the University of Wisconsin System Innovation Program. The studio in Karrmann 103 will allow faculty, staff, and students, regardless of media experience, to create videos using a simple touch panel, then save the mp4 file to a USB drive for easy uploading to a variety of streaming services. The wait is over! Registration for the January 12 Technology Mashup opens today, December 1. This one-day event sponsored by Information Technology Services (including MTS) and the newly-formed Teaching and Technology Center will feature nine workshops, four Birds of a Feather lunch conversations, and two panel discussions. Jabber desktop client offers phone flexibility, more

The Unified Communications system implemented this summer brought so much more than new desk phones to UW-Platteville employees. Cisco’s Jabber desktop client allows employees to utilize their computers or laptops as a telephone for managing calls, instant messaging, managing voicemail, and more! Read more...

Employee printing in computer labs: Explained

On Friday, Oct. 16 changes to the student printing policy went into effect as recommended by the Student Technology Advisory Committee in Spring 2015. To facilitate the accounting aspect of the policy, Papercut client was installed in all campus computer labs and integrated with Blackboard, the system used for Passport Funds. This month we pay homage to functional analysts who, in addition to the duties of their respective core areas, serve an important role as liaisons from those areas to the Information Systems & Reporting (ISR) teams in ITS, focusing on Business Intelligence reports and PASS customizations.
