Winter Computer Buy Announced

Information Technology Services announces the PC computer buy for Winter 2015 will open Monday, Nov. 2.

Please note:

At this time, price quotes are available in ranges rather than exact amounts. Price is based on the volume of the order, and we anticipate this order will not hit the minimum required to be eligible for an exact price quote.

An option for an older “out of warranty” machines is to upgrade the hard drive to a solid state hard drive and possibly upgrade the memory.  At about one quarter the cost of a new machine (around $200), these upgrades provide a cost-effective way to get more life out of an existing system. Contact your IT Support Liaison to determine if either of these options may work for you.

Departments must have orders to their IT Support Liaison by Friday, November 20, 2015.  Spec sheets for available models and accessories are posted in the ITS Knowledge Base. Contact your liaison for prices.

Not sure which computer suits you?  Available PC models are set up for trial in the ITS Help Desk on the first floor of Karrmann Library during regular business hours now through Friday, Nov. 20.  Stop by and try before you buy!

Purchasing Macs
At this time, staff may order Macs at any time of the year.  If you are interested in purchasing a Mac computer or any Apple product including software and accessories, contact your IT Support Liaison.


IMPORTANT note regarding purchasing through the Pioneer Restore

Departments may NOT purchase the items below from Pioneer Restore. ITS sends devices to the Restore when it is no longer cost-effective to support the items due to age or compatibility issues. Instead, departments must purchase these items through ITS.
