Members of the OBI team held five open sessions to explain or assist with Oracle Business Intelligence, the new reporting tool being rolled out at UW Platteville.  Three of the sessions were directed toward employees who have not used interactive reporting in the past, to help them determine if the tool may be helpful to them.  Attendees at these brown bag sessions were shown what OBIEE does and how easy it is to use.   The other two sessions were targeted people who have already had introductory training in OBIEE, to answer any questions they may have.  Amy Crist, Jes Reyerson and Valerie Wachuta held these informative sessions.  The attendees provided good input and suggestions for future reports.  We plan to have more Oracle BI training sessions in the near future.  Watch e-mail, Discover IT and the Campus Calendar for details as they become available.

Last week Help Desk and IT support personnel attended an Oracle BI "crash course" designed to give the support staff a look at what OBIEE is capable of and how people will be generating reports.  It was helpful for the OBI team to get the perspective of people who deal with technology issues on a day-to-day basis and for support staff to start thinking about issues OBI users may encounter.  All issues and change requests for OBI will now go through the OIT Help Desk.  Issues that cannot be resolved in the first call and requests for changes to OBI reports will be forwarded to the BI team where the issues will be analyzed and prioritized.

If you have questions regarding Oracle BI or would like to get on the waiting list for training, please contact the OIT Help Desk at
