Meet Sean Wolfe
“Don’t believe everything you read on the Internet!” ~Abraham Lincoln
Ah, techie humor. It’s a necessary quality when you spend your work day in an industry that is constantly changing. But that’s what Sean Wolfe, Hardware Asset Manager in Support Services, likes about working for ITS, “Every day—and normally every hour—provides a new challenge.”
New challenges are the name of the game in Support Services these days, and Sean is already hard at work in his new role managing and repairing all computer hardware on campus. A self-described “jack of all trades,” Sean has been working for UW-Platteville since 2007, providing tech support for Administrative Services before moving to the College of LAE in 2012. He officially began his new duties as Hardware Asset Manager on January 2. Sean says he’s been told he’s “certifiable…not sure as what.”
In addition to maintaining a healthy sense of humor, Sean uses music to help him unplug. A Pioneer graduate (’00) with a degree in K-12 Choral/General Music, Sean still participates in UW-Platteville’s Chamber Choir and Singing Pioneers. If you need proof of his conviction, check out his favorite website, www.cpdl.org. It leaves no doubt about Sean’s passion.
And speaking of passion, if you see Sean out and about tagging hardware or providing support, ask him about Schwetzingen Day. He’s hoping to bring it back to campus. Another challenge he will gladly accept!
