Meet Patti Mitch

Patti Mitch

Sometime during her 19 years as a Pioneer, many of us have already met Patti Mitch, current Assistant ITS Help Desk Manager and Support Services Liaison for the College of LAE. While her business card says she’s located in the ITS Help Desk on the first floor of the Karrmann Library, Patti’s formal job responsibilities and volunteering spirit take her across campus. From fixing a computer in Warner Hall to attending Women’s Council meetings in the Markee to volunteering at a basketball game in the Williams Fieldhouse, Patti’s commitment to the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, its students and employees is evident.

When asked why she likes working for ITS, she replied, “Simply stated, I enjoy helping people.” Patti’s fervor for helping people is obvious, and she strives to pass that strong commitment on to the student employees in the ITS Help Desk. In her Assistant Help Desk Manager role, Patti works with the student employees daily, emphasizing customer service and training.

Patti has Bachelor degrees in Criminal Justice and Psychology from UW-Platteville, a place that she considers home since her first day as a student many years ago. She has been formally recognized as an outstanding alumna, receiving both the Dennis Pratt Alumni Spirit Award and Distinguished Alumni – Criminal Justice Department title.

When she is not involved in Pioneer life, Patti can be found in her garden, volunteering at Ruby’s Pantry, rooting for the Chicago Cubs, or watching Cagney & Lacy with her pets. She also owns and operates a cake baking company and in her giving spirit, donates a portion of all sales to charity.
