Meet Josh Savoy & Nathan Manwiller
Long before Josh Savoy and Nathan Manwiller earned their new manager titles in Support Services, both were student employees at UW-Platteville. Each graduated and took positions in tech-related areas on campus: Josh in ResNet and Nathan in Production Services. Together they have 23 years of experience supporting Pioneers and providing quality service.
is the current ResNet Support Manager, managing student employees and providing second-tier support for ResNet issues. Josh enjoys “helping the students and staff, getting to see student employees have that ah-ha moment and be successful in their future endeavors.” Not surprisingly, Josh also serves as a student mentor.
Josh has worn many hats at ResNet over the last 13 years. Supporting technology in a non-tech department has been a great asset, giving him a broader customer perspective. In the centralized IT environment, Josh is looking forward working closely with IT colleagues and to “bouncing ideas off each other” for quicker solutions. Also, “It is new, and I am excited for the change.”
When he’s not working, Josh enjoys photography (2004 Honorable Mention in Best of College Photography contest), biking, cooking, landscaping, and watching favorite TV shows, like The Big Bang Theory.
currently manages the ITS Help Desk, overseeing daily operations and supervising students. Nathan has served as customer support liaison for Student Centers and maintains the Bears Den, Hempel, and Pioneer Involvement Center computer labs. In addition, he has additional duties as Footprints administrator and Help Desk web page content steward and serves on the technical team for the e-mail/calendaring review project.
Outside of ITS, Nathan enjoys music (he holds a degree in Music Performance), birding, geocaching, and amateur radio. In addition, Nathan holds Wisconsin State Firefighter Certifications 1 & 2 and serves on the Platteville Volunteer Fire Department.
