Consistency under one roof
At the core of the new service model is a consolidated support staff incorporating three IT personnel from the Library, EMS, and ResNet into the existing ITS Support Services team. A second EMS staff member will stay in EMS supporting computers related to instrumentation. All ITS Support Services personnel will report to the Director of IT Support Services, Tonya Stappert. This consolidated approach allows for increased consistency and accountability across IT processes on campus.
In addition to a consolidated staff, construction is underway on a centralized Support Services location on the first floor of Karrmann Library. Support staff will begin moving into the new space within the next couple of weeks. The ITS Help Desk operations will follow over spring break in March. The ResNet satellite location will remain open in Royce Hall for student convenience.
