Campus upgrading to Office 2013 in July
UW-Platteville will be an Office 2013 campus by end of summer. The process began in 2014 when ITS upgraded the general access labs (Bears Den, Karrmann Library). After the migration to Office 365, those requesting Outlook desktop client received the 2013 version. Earlier this spring, the entire Office 2013 suite was made available for download to employee computers via Software Center. Beginning in mid-July the remaining office, classroom, and lab computers will be upgraded to Office 2013 thus completing the transition.
What do I need to do to prepare?
Preparation for this transition is minimal. Applications and files “pinned” to your task bar will not transfer. Make note of these items so you may re-pin them once the new version is installed. That’s all there is!
The software will be delivered automatically through Software Center. You will receive an email notice prior to the transition.
What’s New in Office 2013?
Campus sessions on the differences between Office 2013 and Office 2010 will be scheduled for late July and into fall. In the meantime, you may want to check out these vendor resources:
