International Students
UW-Platteville is a great place for international students to get a fantastic education. The University is known as a friendly and caring campus with faculty and staff who are accessible to students.
The Office of International Student Services assists students in the following ways:
- I-20 issuance for F-1 students;
- DS-2019 issuance for J-1 students and visiting scholars;
- Coordination of orientation programs for all new international students (both full-time and exchange students);
- Immigration and personal advising throughout students’ careers. NOTE: academic advising is provided by faculty in students’ majors.
- Preparation and completion of forms & applications;
- On and off campus employment authorizations and assistance;
- Change of immigration status assistance;
- Health insurance administration and assistance for international students;
- On campus and community events and programs highlighting international themes; and
- Advising to the International Student Club.
