UWP Study Abroad Grant (Fulltime degree seeking UWP students only)
All full time UWP students may apply for a $725 scholarship for semester or academic year programs. Wisconsin residents with demonstrated financial need may qualify for up to $1,800. Wisconsin residents with financial need may qualify for a $300 grant for short-term programs.

Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship
The Gilman Scholarship Program provides up to $5,000 to U.S. citizen undergraduates from two-and four-year institutions. It aims to support students who have been traditionally underrepresented in study abroad. Must receive a Federal Pell Grant to be eligible.

UWP Award Winners

College Consortium for International Studies (CCIS) Scholarship
Only for students going on CCIS programs. $1,000 for semester, $500 for summer programs. UWP is a member institution of CCIS. CCIS offers programs in 30 countries. CEA Scholarships
Only for students going on CEA programs. Student must be accepted through UWP Study Abroad Office and CEA. Multiple scholarships for $2,000 - $3,000 in the following categories: France Program, Foreign Languages, Global Education, Academic Excellence, and Financial Need.

Rotary International
From $12,000 - $26,000. Cultural Ambassadorial Scholarship (3 - 6 months)and Academic-Year Ambassadorial Scholarship. Club deadlines vary from March to mid-July for study beginning next academic year.

Fulbright Program
For juniors and seniors or graduating students in any field of study. Preference given to students without extensive travel experience. Applicants must propose project for which they have had some undergraduate preparation and/or direct work or internship experience. Full-grants and travel grants available. National Security Education Program (NSEP)
The National Security Education Program (NSEP) is a unique scholarship opportunity for U.S. undergraduates wishing to study abroad. NSEP awards scholarships to American students for study of world regions critical to U.S. interests (including Africa, Asia, Central & Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America & the Caribbean, and the Middle East). On-Campus application deadline is Feruary 1.

Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grants
Fifty $1,000 scholarships. Eligibility: limited to students with: 3.5 GPA, 30 - 90 hours of academic credit (including AP, transfer, etc) completed by the deadline date, at least two semesters remaining at home institution after completing study abroad program.

Fullbright mtvU Awards
Up to four awards will be available to pursue projects around an aspect of international contemporary or popular music as a cultural force for expression. Preference will be given to creative projects that are conveyed in a dynamic fashion and are accompanied by a feasible plan.

DiversityAbroad.com's Study Abroad Scholarship
$1,000 scholarships. African-American, Asian-American, Hispanic/Latino and Native-American students are strongly encourage to apply.

Council of American Overseas Research Centers (CAORC)
Critical Language scholarships for Intensive Summer Institutes for study of Arabic, Banla/Bengali, Chinese, Hindi, Korean, Persian, Russian, Punjabi, Turkish, and Urdu

Agriculture Cross-Cultural Experience Program Scholarship
The objective of this scholarship program emphasizes a summer learning and working experience for an undergraduate student to learn more about agricultural sciences and agricultural education through international agricultural programs. It also provides an opportunity for students to live and learn with students of another culture and language. The scholarship is made possible by a gift from the Lewis B. Nelson Fund to the Agronomic Science Foundation and administered by the American Society of Agronomy. The scholarship is in the amount of $2500.

Reed/Kendall International Study Scholarship
Must be a Communication Technology major who has earned 30 or more credits with a 3.0 GPA or higher. Must complete essay answering the question, "How will an international experience enhance your career goals?"

John T. Petters Foundation Scholarships
(up to $5,000) The John T. Petters Foundation is a private foundation providing college scholarships to support international business study abroad programs. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, accepted to a study abroad program with an international business focus that is eligible for credit at the student's home university. Preference is given to students with financial need, going on programs that emphasize cultural immersion, and displaying accomplishments that indicate leadership, character, integrity and motivation . Applications are due in February for summer and fall programs or in September for spring programs.

Corinne Jeannine Schilling Study Abroad Grant (8-10: $1000)
Silver or Gold Award Girl Scouts who are full-time undergraduate students with a minimum GPA of 3.0 are eligible for this travel grant. If awarded, you will receive up to $1000 toward the cost of your airline ticket to study abroad. Applications for Summer, Fall, or Academic Year will be accepted between March 15 and May 15. Applications for Spring will be accepted between October 15 and December 1. Complete information is available at http://www.cjsfoundation.org/.

The German Academic Exchange Service (DADD)
Administers a variety of scholarships; provides financial support to over 50,000 highly-qualified students and faculty per year for international research and study.

Fiji

Fiji Study Abroad Program In Biology Scholarship
$2000 to Study Abroad in Fiji. The Student must be a Biology Major enrolled full-time at UW-Platteville in the semester preceding the international experience.

Italy

American University of Rome Scholarship (Fulltime degree-seeking UWP Student only)

Japan

Bridging Scholarship
The Bridging Scholarship offers a stipend of $2,500 (for students on semester-long programs) or $4,000 (for students on academic year programs). Undergraduate students majoring in any field of study are eligible to apply for these scholarships. Japanese language study is not a prerequisite.

Japanese Student Services Organization (JASSO) Scholarship
5,000 - $9,000 Scholarships available for study in Japan. Please note - students should submit their JASSO scholarship application along with their ISAP/JASIN application forms.

Japan Monbukagakusho Scholarship
Monbukagakusho, the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (MEXT), offers five different scholarships for non-Japanese nationals wishing to study in Japan.

Middle East

Center for Arabic Study Abroad (CASA)
For advanced Arabic language study at the American University in Cairo.
UWP Students can study at the American University in Cairo through our affiliation with UW-La Crosse.

Spain

Spanish American Institute (SAI) Scholarship (For Fulltime degree-seeking UWP Students only)
