The Copy Components tool enables you to move previous semester course materials to a current semester course shell. You are able to copy quizzes, content, grade items, discussion forums, dropbox folders, and nearly every other type of component. Copying components can significantly reduce the amount of work required to create or re-offer a course as you do not have to recreate your course’s resources from scratch.

  • If you are doing course section consolidation, the consolidation process must be done before components are copied into the new course shell. If you need to consolidate your course shells, you must submit a request using this form on the ICET web site
  • Make note of the official course code and semester of course you will be copying FROM (You will select this code from a menu list during the copy components process)

  • Access to a Desire2Learn course
  • Content, discussions, quizzes, dropboxes and/or grades already created in one course shell
  • Instructor Access to the course from which you are copying and the course to which you are copying components
