A learning management system (LMS) as an instructive tool can extend students’ learning experiences and augment faculty class management and pedagogical approaches to engagement and communication. InformED notes “many academic technologists regard Learning Management Systems with disdain, anticipating what they see as an inevitable decline.” However, a survey conducted by the Faculty Survey for Student Engagement found 4,600 faculty members at 50 U.S colleges and universities indicating LMS as being “most familiar” as a tool “second only…to the traditional chalkboard and PowerPoint.” Read more...

The Yin and Yang of Controlled and Emergent Design Process
