Workshop: Transparency in Assessment: Using Rubrics
Students often lament a lack of understanding why an assignment was graded lower than expected. Do your students know what you anticipate in the assignments they do for your courses? One way to help students perform to the standards you set is to provide a clear rubric for assessment. The benefit to you is easier grading, less time spent on the task, and fewer negative comments from students when they receive your feedback. Explore rubric development and apply the technique immediately to one of your ssignments, then use the rubric tool in Desire2Learn to automate your new rubric.
