December 12 - December 19
Information about Lagos Business School
Lagos Business School (LBS) is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1991 as a management development institution offering non-degree professional development program to practicing managers. In January 2002 the Federal Government of Nigeria approved the application of LBS to be raised to the status of a private university as part of Pan-African University.
Lagos Business School became the first school of Pan-African University and became able to run degree programs in Business Administration. LBS started its Part-time (Executive) MBA in 2002, the Full-time MBA in June 2003 and a Doctorate Degree program in Management in October 2006
In 2004, the National Universities Commission (NUC), the body that regulates university education in Nigeria, conducted a ranking exercise of Nigerian universities and recognized Pan-African University/LBS as the best private university in Nigeria, and the best university in the country in the field of administration/management sciences. No similar ranking exercise relevant to the Lagos Business School has been conducted since then.
In 2007 Lagos Business School was ranked among the top 50 Business Schools in the World in the area of open enrolment executive education program by the Financial Times of London. This was the first time that a Nigerian business school appeared in this prestigious ranking, and it was the first time that an African business school outside South Africa was included in it. And for the three consecutive years since then, LBS has been included in the Financial Times ranking.
