The Heartland Festival's benefit performance of next to normal raised $1000 for the Platteville Tornado Relief Fund.  Thank you for your generous support!

Because of the two-plus days of work lost to the tornado, Shrek the Musical's opening will be delayed until Sunday, June 6 at 2:00pm.  If you were holding tickets for the July 3rd or 5th performances, please contact the box office at 877-727-1CFA (toll free) to exchange them for a different date or request a refund.  Thank you!

After the events of last week, the outpouring of support from the Platteville community was wonderful. Now, the Heartland Festival Company wants to give back. This Friday, June 27 there will be a special additional performance of "next to normal" at 7:30pm at the Center for the Arts. ALL proceeds from this performance will go to the Platteville Tornado Relief Fund. All tickets for this special benefit performance are $10. Call the University Box Office at 877.727.1CFA (toll free) for tickets. "There will be light!"

Information was mailed this week to last year's participants in the Missoula Children's Theatre productions. Unfortunately, the cover letter had an incorrect date. Registration for this year's production of The Secret Garden opens on Wednesday, April 9 at 9:00 a.m. Registrations are again being coordinated by the Office of Continuing Education via their web site at or the shortened URL of

The team is back from the MidWest Theatre Audtions and they're now looking forward to Saturday, March 1 - the local auditions. See the ad to the right for instructions and click on the link above to access the audition forms. We hope we'll see you there!

The Missoula Children's Theatre visit has been confirmed! The Secret Garden is this year's production, which will run from July 7 to July 12. Performances are scheduled for Friday, July 11 at 7:30 p.m., and on Saturday, July 12 at 11:00 a.m. Registration for this week-long theatre experience will again be coordinated by the Office of Continuing Education. The registration web site will open on Wednesday, April 9.

There is space for 60 children, broken down into the following age categories: ages 6-7, 15 children; ages 8-12, 31 children; ages 13-18, 14 children. The rehearsals, performances, Friday meal, optional workshops, and two free tickets to the July musical are all included in the $85 per child regsitration fee.

The 2014 Heartland Festival management group met for the first time this year and had great discussions about all aspects of the festival. A press release will be issued in the next few weeks with more information.

A group from the festival will attend the MidWest Theatre Auditions at Webster University (St. Louis, MO) from February 21-23. Audition times for Tri-State area residents have been set for Saturday, March 1. More information will be included in the upcoming press release and ads will be run in area newspapers.
