Jeffrey Strange, Scenic Designer, The Last Five Years and Mary Poppins
Jeffrey Strange is an Assistant Professor of Theatre and Resident Designer for UW-Platteville where he has created scenic and/or lighting designs for Betrayal, Macbeth, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, Secret Garden, God of Carnage, Tartuffe, Death and the Maiden, Guys and Dolls, Ghosts, The Normal Heart, Godspell, The Pillowman, The Crucible, Agnes of God, and Company. For the Heartland Festival, Jeffrey created scenic designs for Shrek, Nunsense and Fiddler on the Roof. His designs have also been seen at Tennessee State University (The Birthday Party and Ruined -American College Theatre Festival Region IV Finalist), Weathervane Theatre (Hair, Ragtime, Legally Blonde, Music Man), Stagedoor Manor (The Wild Party, Chicago, Sweeney Todd, Sweet Charity, Les Miserables, The Producers), Hilberry Rep (The Taming of the Shrew, Hamlet, The Seagull, Pippin) and the Moscow International Theatre Festival (Lie of the Mind). Previously, he served as Charge Artist for the Berkshire Theatre Festival with Broadway designers Hugh Landwehr and Paul Gallo.
Sarah Strange, Costume Designer, The Last Five Years AND Mary Poppins
Sarah Strange is UW-Platteville theatre program’s Resident Costume Designer. She is a recent graduate of the MFA Costume Design program at University of Wisconsin-Madison and received her Bachelors of Science in Theatre Design and Technology from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville. With the Pioneer Players, Sarah has designed the costumes for Company, The Crucible, The Pillowman, Godpell, ‘night Mother, The Normal Heart, Ghosts, Tartuffe and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead. Other costume design credits include Shrek and Fiddler on the Roof (Heartland Festival 2013), Cloud 9, The Cradle Will Rock, Two Gentlemen of Verona, Bat Boy, You Can’t Take it With You, Twelfth Night, Assassins!, Intimate Apparel, Ruthless!, The Secretaries, Mary’s Wedding, Road to Mecca, Fugitive Songs, Polaroid Stories, and Katatonika (2009 Prague International Fringe Festival).
Aimee Hanyzewski, lighting designer, The last five years and Mary poppins
Aimee Hanyzewski is glad to be working with the Heartland Festival for the first time and appreciates the opportunity. She has designed at the Milwaukee Repertory Theater in the Stackner Cabaret for such hits as Liberace, Debbie and Doyle, Ain’t Misbehavin’, From My Hometown, Fire on the Bayou, Grafton City Blues, and many others. Moreover, she designed the lighting for Venus in Fur and The Year of Magical Thinking in the Stiemke Theater. Other theatres that Aimee has designed for are In Tandem Theatre, Next Act Theatre, Forward Theater, and Oak Park Festival Theater.
