Dear New UW-Platteville Student:
Welcome to the University of Wisconsin-Platteville! In order to assist you and your academic advisor when registering for classes, you are required to take the UW-System English and Mathematics Placement Test prior to registering for classes. The Online Placement Test is available to out-of-state and international students only. Wisconsin residents must take the test at a regional Wisconsin location in March or April or on campus during New Student Registration in June or July. Information about the Placement Test is mailed to all incoming freshman and transfer students.
Your test results will allow UWP to place you in the appropriate English and Mathematics courses. You may also take the German, French or Spanish Foreign Language Placement Exam if you wish. You may take the examinations online. The online exams are untimed, but must be completed once started.
To register to take the Online Placement Test, complete the application below. Within five business days, you will receive confirmation and instructions for accessing the Placement Test web site. (Important note: Only UW-Platteville accepts the online test results; other UW institutions may only accept the paper-pencil version.)
