Biography

Education: B.S. Human Services, UW-Oshkosh and MSE in Education from UW-Platteville

Experience: Sandie served as the Director of UW-Platteville’s Robert and James Wright Center for Non-Traditional and Veteran Students as well as Director of Patricia A. Doyle Center for Gender and Sexuality. She has spent most of her career in education, as  a school counselor and chaired the scholarship committee in the Dodgeville School District from 1996 until joining UW-Platteville in 2013. She also previously worked for UW-Extension. She and her husband operate a horse and beef farm in Dodgeville.

Background: Sandie is the past president of the Wisconsin Horse Council and Chaired the Wisconsin Horse Council Scholarship Committee for over 10 years. Brick-Margelofsky earned her bachelor’s degree from UW-Oshkosh and her master’s in education from UW-Platteville.

Biography

Education: B.S. Political Science, Illinois State University and associate arts degree from the Community College of the U.S. Air Force

Experience: Herb was part of a major capital campaign at Lincoln College, located in central Illinois. He served for four years as a development officer. Prior to serving at Lincoln, he was the director of development at Home Sweet Home Ministries in Bloomington, Illinois. He has served on many educational, library, and community boards.

Background: Herb served in the Air Force for four years and in the Illinois Air National Guard for 11.

Biography

Education: B.S. Aeronautical Engineering, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, CA
MS Management, Florida Institute of Technology
U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, KS

Experience: Upon graduation from college, Bill served as a Regular Army Officer ending his career as a Lieutenant Colonel. As an Army Aviator he served in many leadership and staff positions during his 20 years of service. He served in many line combat units as well as a member of the U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command where he coordinated testing of helicopter weapons systems. In 1999 Bill began 12 years of service with the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs and served in many leadership positions to include the agency Deputy Secretary where he oversaw several construction and renovation projects. In December of 2010 he accepted the position as Director of the newly established UW-Platteville Real Estate Foundation.

Background: Bill is a native of California and met his wife, Platteville native, Deborah Rice while serving in the military in Germany. They have a daughter Gretchen who is attending Minnesota State, Mankato and is a member of the MSU Dance Team. Bill and Deborah reside in Platteville and enjoy travel, attending sporting events and life in South West WI. Bill is a model builder and enjoys military history.
Kim Govier

Biography

Education: B.S. Business Administration with a double emphasis in Human Resource Management and Management, University of Wisconsin-Platteville

Experience: Kim has been employed by UW-Platteville Foundation since January 2001 as Accounts Receivable and Scholarship Coordinator. In 2010 Kim took on a new role as University Advancement, Division Coordinator. Kim coordinates the workflow within the Advancement division, organizing efforts following division strategic planning, and collaborates with Advancement leaders, as well as constituents outside our division. She also manages the Foundation Board by arranging the meetings, packets, etc.

Background: Kim was raised on a dairy farm located outside of Stitzer, Wisconsin. She is a 1992 graduate of Fennimore High School and currently resides in Fennimore. She has a husband, Rick and two children, Courtney and Dakota. She enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Biography

Education: B.S. Business Administration, University of Wisconsin-Platteville

Experience: Jay has been employed with the UW-Platteville Foundation since January 2013. Jay invested the last twenty years working in the field of accounting and business management for several SW Wisconsin companies. Jay is responsible for ensuring that all of the accounting functions of the Foundation are handled efficiently and accurately.

Background: Jay grew up in Madison, graduating from James Madison Memorial high school. He then attended UW-Platteville, graduating with a BS in Business Administration with a finance emphasis. Jay's wife, Jodi, is also employed at UW-Platteville as the Assistant Dean for the college of BILSA. They have four children, Jessica, Andrea, Scott, and Sami. The oldest, Jessica, will be attending UW-Platteville beginning in the fall of 2013. Jay spends his free time enjoying antique car restoration, golf, volleyball, and time with his family. Jay is very excited about being part of the Foundation family and the excitement of campus life.

Biography

Education: Scott graduated from Onalaska High School in 2012. He is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. His future plans is to work in a CPA firm while study for the CPA exam.

Background: Scott grew up in Onalaska with his parents and two older sister. Played soccer, hockey and tennis throughout his high school career and is currently the goalkeeper for the Men Soccer Team at Platteville. He is also a goaltender for the club hockey team and serving as Vice President for the Beta Alpha Accounting Club. During his free time he enjoys to play golf, racquetball, and disc golf along with spending time with family and friends.

Biography

Education: Kimberly graduated from Douglas MacArthur High School. Kimberly is planning to major in Biology with an emphasis in Cell and Molecular.

Background: Kimberly was raised in Houston, Texas. Kimberly is the third oldest out of seven siblings. Aside from working and studying, Kimberly is also an athlete at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. Kimberly is part of the Women’s Cross Country team, and Women’s Track and Field team. Kimberly is also a member of the Pioneer Student Athlete Advisory Committee who provides insight on the student athlete experience. Kimberly enjoys running, hanging out with her friends and family, and frozen yogurt.

Biography

Education: In 2014, Kylie graduated from Dodgeville High School. She is currently a freshman here at UW-Platteville where she plans to major in Industrial Engineering and minor in Business Management.

Background: Kylie has been with the Foundation office since September 2014 while attending school here at UW-Platteville. At UW-Platteville, Kylie is a member of the STEM Scholar Program as a 2014 cohort member and Society of Women Engineers. During her high school years, she was involved in National Honor Society, DECA, FFA, Key Club, Five Points 4-H, Grace Lutheran youth group, cross country, basketball, and soccer. She also spent 16 years as a Betty Hayes dancer. Some of her favorite high school accolades include: graduating with high honors, 3 state cross country championship medals, 6 all-conference honors, and a grand champion marker bird at the Iowa County Fair. She also has held a Wisconsin Soccer Referee certification since 2009 and enjoys spending time with the youth soccer players.

Education: Natasha graduated from Lancaster High School in 2012 and continued her education at UW-Platteville in the fall 2012. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance. She is expecting to graduate the spring of 2016.

Background: Natasha grew up in the small community based town of Lancaster, WI with her parents and brother. Aside from studying and working she enjoys spending time outdoors, shopping, running, attending car shows, and with family and friends.

Biography

Education: Austin graduated in 2013 from Boylan Central Catholic High School in Rockford Illinois. He is planning to major in Industrial Technology Management with a minor in Business Administration.

Background: Austin was born and raised in Rockford Illinois two sisters, one older and one younger. In high school he participated in Mock Trial during which his team won two regional invitations and placed in the Annual Illinois State Bar Association State Championships with a top 10 performance all four years, two top eights, and third place his senior year as a captain. Austin has also been a part of the Boy Scouts of America for most of his life and is an Eagle Scout. He frequently enjoys hiking, disc golfing, and playing Magic the Gathering with friends.

 

Ciara Miller

Biography

Education: Ciara graduated from Prairie du Chien High School with high honors in 2014, and continued her education at UW-Platteville where she is perusing a degree in Geography with a double minor in English and Sustainable and Renewable Energy Systems. She is expecting to graduate in the spring of 2017.

Background: Ciara was born and raised in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. She has two sisters and one brother, and is the proud aunt of two nephews. When not at school or working at the Foundation office, Ciara also works at the Villa Louis Historic Site in Prairie du Chien. She also keeps busy as one of the co-founders of a non-profit organization called Passing on Hope, which has recently become a new club on campus.
