What are you most excited about starting or experiencing at UW-Platteville?
I'm excited about taking a lot of music classes and being around people with the same passion as me. I know people say dorm life isn't always fun, but I'm looking forward to having stories to tell while living in close corridors. While I'm in college, I hope to study abroad and travel. I plan to be very active in anything music from the concert bands to the jazz band to a concert choir. Marching band and pep band are two things I'm definitely going to love and can't wait to play. In general, I'm just excited for college because it will be a new experience, and I know I'll be making connections and life long friends while pursuing my dream of being a saxophone professor.
What interests and/or hobbies do you have?
Obviously, I'm very interested in music. I'm involved in the jazz band and swing choir. I am an active participant at solo and ensemble and take as many events as I can each year. Outside of music, I like to play soccer. It's fun and helps improve my lung capacity, so I have more air while playing saxophone. Trap shooting is another hobby I have and usually do in the summer. I love just spending time with my friends whether that be in school, in a club, or outside of school. I try to have fun with whatever I'm doing.
Keely's Thank You Note
I can not say thank you enough. Every bit helps reduce the cost of college, which can be pretty expensive. I appreciate you selecting me to be the recipient of this scholarship, and I will not let it go to waste. My plan is to study hard and complete my bachelor's degree. After that, I will hopefully be going for my master's and maybe my doctorate someday. Again, thank you immensely!
