Steinway Grand Piano Project

International concert pianist and Steinway Artist, Eugene Alcalay, performed “Lyrical Liszt” and held a Master Class to begin fundraising eff orts toward a new Steinway grand piano to replace the quarter century old piano. Sponsor a key for a new Concert and Artist Steinway grand piano for $1,000. Any contribution is welcomed toward this $88,000 project.

Endow-a-Band-Member Project

The UWP Marching Band has a strong reputation of sound and excellence. This award winning band performs for all home football games, parades, competitions, and other events. Due to the high cost of maintaining band uniforms and equipment, along with fees and travel, some bands programs have ended. UWP is launching an endow a band member project so the band will continue indefinitely with the help of alumni and donors.

2006-2007 UWP marching band had 80 members

2007-2008 UWP marching band has 120 members

Giving Levels: $10,000 will fully endow a band member - $2,000 a year for five years

$500 will sponsor a band member for a year.

Designate the instrumental section you want to endow or sponsor.

The Leica Microsystems FS4000 Forensic Digital Comparison Microscope is approximately $45,000. This equipment is digitally interfaced with a PC and is used for the comparison of evidentiary items such as ballistic, tool, fiber, hair, paint, soil and other trace evidence. An integrated digital camera captures the images and saves them to the PC.

The "FIRF" is the "Forensic Investigation Research Facility" which you may have referred to as the "pig dig" or "body farm." Initial development costs were covered by the 1866 Fund, but upkeep and equipment costs related to the research performed on-site continue. The annual research-related expenses will be approximately $3800.

New Advising Support Center for the School of Education

The School of Education faculty and staff hope to better serve students who must navigate complex State of Wisconsin requirements, register for the correct classes in proper sequence, and successfully transition from other institutions. Students will be able to access their records and quickly make the changes needed for success in School of Education programs.

The School of Education would like to name/endow this room to cover software updates, new and additional equipment/furnishings, and maintenance involved with the Advising Center.
