Students are to meet with their guidance counselor to discuss this scholarship opportunity, and are encouraged to speak with UW-Platteville recruiters. There will not be an application for students to fill out for this scholarship. UW-Platteville recruiters will speak to seniors accepted into UW-Platteville and also to students that are considering attending UWP. They will be asked to fill out a card with their information, and this will be used to choose the recipient(s).
The goal of this award is to aid and assist worthy and deserving new freshmen students from specific high schools located in Wisconsin, Iowa and Illinois. These are well-rounded individuals with a strong desire in becoming a UWP Pioneer. They are also involved in community and school, and may not have a GPA or ACT that ranks in the top quartile in their graduating class. Admission Advisors will nominate these students following their high school or other campus visit. Nominations can also be made by high school counselors. Selection will be determined by the Director of Admission and/or the Recruitment Manager.
