The annual giving program is the UW-Platteville Foundation's yearly campaign to raise financial support for the ongoing operating needs of the university. The Foundation's mission is to provide supplemental funds to aid UW-Platteville in fulfilling its educational mission.

How does the annual giving campaign help?

Unrestricted gifts to the annual campaign are more important than ever for UWP. The purpose of unrestricted gifts is to provide critical resources to students that state assistance, tuition, and fees do not support. Examples include academic programs, student enrichment programs, technology and equipment needs, and support for the arts.

Who gives to the annual giving campaign?

UW-Platteville has over 30,000 living alumni. Approximately 20 percent of our alumni provide their financial support to the Foundation in the form of annual gifts, major gifts, and special project support. Annual giving accounts for approximately a quarter million dollars each year. The majority of gifts donated in response to the Foundation's annual phonathon. Each fall, the Foundation hires current students to call alumni to update them on campus events. We also keep our alumni informed through the mail with letters and publications.

How do I contribute?

If you are an alumnus of UWP or parent of a current student, you will be contacted either by phone or mail. At that time, you can make your pledge or send in a gift by check, money order, credit card, or transfer of stock. At any time during the year, feel free to contact the Foundation Office, Accounts Receivable at 608/342-1243 or 608/342-1182, with any questions, concerns, or suggestions. We love hearing from you!

Yes! Either you or your spouse's employer can match your gifts to UWP. Many employers offer a matching gift program that can double or triple a donor's contribution. Simply request a form from your human resource or public relations office, and send it to us with your contribution. We'll take care of the rest!

All contributors receive a formal receipt acknowledging their gift to the Foundation. In addition, the Foundation's annual report and donor honor roll lists the names of all contributors during a calendar year.

Additionally, contributors of $250 or more are invited to the Foundation's annual donor recognition event, held each year during the summer.
