John graduated from UW-Platteville in 1976 with a degree in civil engineering. He is the executive vice-president and director of operations for Clark Dietz, Inc. Clark Dietz has offices in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Indiana. Boldt has served as the president of the American Council of Engineering Companies of Wisconsin. Besides his 30 years of experience in the industry, he is a member of the American Water Works Association, the Water Environment Federation, and the American Public Works Association. He is a past chairman of the town of Bristol Plan Commission and chairman of the St. Scholastica Church Building Committee. After a number of years of service on the University of Wisconsin-Platteville Alumni Board, John has joined the Foundation Board. He resides in Kenosha County, Wisconsin with his wife, Barbara (Bishop), also a UWP grad and they have two children, Amy (UWP-2004) and Adam (UW-Madison-2006).
