To supplement coursework in the speech communication program, many students participate in one or more of the following co-curricular activities:

• Forensics – UW-Platteville maintains an individual events team which competes against teams from other institutions.
• State District Forensics Tournament – For over two decades, UW-Platteville has hosted the district-level high school competition, with speech students working as judges and assistants.

Students in the speech program also participate in other local and regional activities to complements their on-campus coursework.
