The Platteville Art Program offers students many advantages to a creative professional future. Through a low student to instructor ratio, art majors have more access to instruction, facilities and materials. The Art Building has state of the art computer equipment and an excellent working environment. A variety of opportunities are available with the Art major, which is composed of three emphases:
- Comprehensive Art Emphasis
- Graphic Design Emphasis
- Art Education Emphasis
Fundamental skills are stressed in the course work of each emphasis. Students have drawing, painting, design and computer graphics courses that teach principles of color, composition, and good design, and develop an understanding of the theory and history of art. Students will then choose more advanced and specialized study as they continue their education as art majors.
