College of BILSA Scholarships

AGRICULTURE 

The following College of BILSA Scholarships are available to students with majors or minors in agriculture or students involved in agriculture organizations. Please complete the attached questionnaire and submit it to Jane Menke at menke@uwplatt.edu or at 211 Pioneer Tower. The deadline is March 1st. 
  • Agri-Nutrition Consulting Inc. Scholarship
    • Must be majoring in Animal Science with a Dairy emphasis. Encouraged to be involved in extra curricular activities such as, dairy club, FFA, 4H or county fairs.
  • Agriculture Economics And Agribusiness Alumni
    • Scholarship, leadership, major in agribusiness, or agriculture economics.
  • Ambrosius-Cottingham Endowed Scholarship in Agribusiness
    • Enrolled as Agribusiness major in the following emphasis-Commodity & Price Analysis; Management; Communications & Marketing; or Comprehensive, financial need, demonstrated leadership. Scholarship used toward tuition.
  • Badgerland Financial Scholarship
    • Must have declared a major in Agriculture, GPA of 3.0 or higher and completed at least 54 credits by the end of the Fall semester. Preference shall be given to students who have held an officer position or committee chair position in a student or community organization.
  • Bert Blain Memorial/Blain's Farm & Fleet Endowed Scholarship
    • Major in agribusiness or agriculture. Preference given to applicants who are the children or grandchildren of employees of Blain Supply and/or Blain's Farm and Fleet.
  • Buel Dull Memorial
    • Any agriculture major may apply. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or greater.
  • CHS Foundation
    • Must have completed at least three semesters at time of application, resident of CENEX trade area, career interest in agribusiness, course work in cooperative principles, scholarship and leadership. May be renewed for second year if requirements are met.
  • C.L. Denure Memorial
    • Must have completed at least three semesters at time of application, scholarship, need and campus activities.
  • CNH Scholarship
    • Student enrolled in sophomore or junior year in any agriculture related field and shall demonstrate academic excellence.
  • Dr. Bill Gengler Pre-Veterinary Medicine
    • Majoring in Animal Science and fulfilling pre-professional requirements, earned 30 credits or more, including Chemistry 1140 and Chemistry 1240.
  • Dr. R.C. Coffee
    • Must have completed at least three semesters at time of application, member SWCS, GPA of 2.5+, leadership.
  • Dr. Sue Price Ag Consulting Team, Inc Scholarship
    • Must be a Junior or Senior enrolled in Animal Science with an emphasis in Dairy. Must have a current GPA of 3.0. Preference given to students with an agricultural background and in interest in Animal Nutrition.
  • Earl Gehrke Memorial
    • At least 80 credits completed at time of application, course work, internship, employment experience or parent membership in a cooperative, GPA of 2.75+, resident of Grant, Iowa or Lafayette County.
  • Farm Credit Wisconsin Endowed Scholarship
    • GPA of 3.0, upperclassman, interest in cooperative agribusiness and/or agriculture finance, demonstrated leadership ability, permanent resident of territory served by Wisconsin Farm Credit Services.
  • Federated Youth Foundation Scholarship in Dairy Science
    • Recipient must be an animal science major, dairy emphasis with at least a 3.0 GPA. Preference given to students from Grant, Iowa or Lafayette County.
  • Fred Oomens
    • Must have 30 credits at UWP, at least 3.0 GPA, and a member of Ag Mech Club or FFA. Preference given to student having demonstrated need and enrolled in Agricultural Engineering Technology or Agricultural Education.
  • George Kettler Memorial
    • Priority given to UWP students living and working at the Pioneer Farm. If no eligible student applies, the award is then given to any UWP student majoring in an agriculture program. Preference given to students with proven financial need.
  • Grant County Master Gardners Association in Ornamental Horticulture
    • Must be enrolled in the UWP Ornamental Horticulture program. Must have completed 30 credits.
  • Growmark
    • At least 80 credits completed at time of application, scholarship, leadership and involvement in student activities. Preference given to student whose parents hold Farm Bureau and/or Growmark membership.
  • Harold D. Beals and Robert L. Campbell Agricultural Education Scholarship
    • Must be an agriculture education major, minimum grade point of 2.75. Active member of collegiate FFA.
  • Herbert Kinney
    • Demonstrate a long term commitment to either a natural resource or agriculture. High school or college GPA must be 2.50 or higher, show economic need. Include an essay describing your educational and work long term goals in which you indicate your willingness to spend some time working in rural Wisconsin after you graduate. Preference given to those interested in outreach education/extension.
  • Irving W. Gerhardt
    • Must have declared an agriculture or reclamation major and have completed 45 credits at the time of application. Selection will be based on academic achievement, activities and need.
  • Jack Weier Memorial
    • Must be an active member of the Pioneer Dairy Club for at least one semester prior to application and maintain at least a 2.50 GPA.
  • Jerry Cooper
    • Any major in agriculture.
  • Jerry & Barbara Strohm Endowed
    • Student must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and earned a minimum of 60 credits.  Must be pursuing a degree in Crop and Soil Science (Agronomy) or in reclamation. 
  • Kennicker Family Scholarship
    • At least a sophomore status with a GPA of at least 2.0. The individual must be a Soil and Crop Science Major, member of an UW-Platteville judging team (Soils, Crops, Weeds) and the ASA/SWCS (Agronomy) Club. Preference is given to graduates from a high school of southwest Wisconsin and individuals with a farm background.
  • Kenny and Bea Berg/Quality Liquid Feeds Animal Science Scholarship
    • Must be enrolled full-time in the School of Agriculture and be from Iowa County.
  • Kim Hagemann Endowed Scholarship
    • Must have at least sophomore status, majoring in soil and crop sciences. Applicants must have a grade point average of at least 2.50. Applicants must be members of the University's crop judging team.
  • Kolell-Knight
    • Soil and crop science major, must have completed at least three semesters at time of application, leadership, GPA of 3.0+.
  • Lewis E. Ewers Memorial Scholarship
    • Must be enrolled in the agricultural education program and a demonstrated interest in agriculture and education throuh a variety of activities, (i.e... FFA, 4-H) preference to Royall HS grads. GPA of 3.0+.
  • Lyle G. Atkinson Memorial
    • Any agriculture major with financial need as first consideration and scholastic achievement being second.
  • Majestic View Dairy Scholarship in Agriculture
    • Must major in one of the following: Agribusiness, Agriculture Education, Animal Science, Reclamation, Soil Crop Science, Pre-Veterinary Medicine or pursuing a Masters of Agriculture Industries degree. Must have at least 60 credits earned. Participation in extra-curricular activities and/or job experience related to the field of agriculture is desired.
  • Maynard Konkol Memorial
    • At least 15 credits completed at time of application, active SCSA member, leadership and exemplary character.
  • Mound City Bank Agriculture Scholarship
    • Any agriculture major, family residing in Mound City Bank trade area.
  • Mitchell-Ohm
    • At least 45 credits completed at time of application, soil and crop science major, GPA of 3.0+, financial need. Preference given to southwest Wisconsin residents.
  • Oscar and Coletta Wegmann Family
    • Traditional college age, attending college immediately following high school. Major in agricultural program.Graduate of Grant County high school. Cumulative GPA of 2.5 to 3.5, at least 30 credits earned as agriculture major when award is received. Financial aid preference will be given to candidate whose parents operate a farm in Grant County.
  • Peoples State Bank Scholarship
    • Must have completed 30 credits, declared a major in School of Agriculture and be originally from Southwest Wisconsin or Northeast Iowa.
  • Raymond Duewer Horticulture
    • Junior or Senior horticulture minor, GPA of 2.75 or above, involved in extracurricular activities.
  • Reclamation Scholarship
    • Must be a reclamation major with a minimum of 30 credits and in good academic standing.
  • Richard Loberger
    • Agriculture education or agriculture business major. Involvement in extra curricular activities with leadership roles, minimum GPA of 3.0, upperclass student.
  • Richard Loberger AGR
    • Sophomore or junior standing during spring semester, member of Beta Gamma AGR, active on fraternity committees with leadership roles and a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Richard V. Ripp Scholarship
    • Must be enrolled in agriculture, first generation in their family to attend college, demonstrate merit and demonstrate financial need- student who is paying for their own college.
  • Richard Zimmerman Memorial
    • At least 45 credits completed at time of application, agribusiness major. GPA of 3.0+ exemplary character.
  • Roger Higgs Endowed Scholarship in Agriculture
    • Preference given to students who have been involved for at least one semester with crops, soils or weed science team.
  • Roger M. and Melville H. Cohee Student Leadership Conservation Scholarship
    • Must be a member of the Soil and Water Conservation Society or the Reclamation Club. Fields of study must be in conservation or resource related fields. Demonstrate leadership, academic achievement, and involvement with other organizations.
  • Roman and Joan Borkovec Endowed Scholarship in Agriculture and/or Education
    • Must be a junior or senior at time of selection with a cumulative GPA of 2.65+, pursuing an agriculture or education degree at UWP, financial need is considered, FAFSA must be filed.
  • Roy Hoff Memorial
    • Must be full-time student majoring in agriculture, with an emphasis in agronomy. Also, has significant participation in college activities.
  • The Friar Family Scholarship
    • Must be a Junior or Senior to apply, involvement in ag-related extracurricular activities and financial need. Preference given to students from Grant County first then Southwest Wisconsin.
  • William E. Von Rueden Memorial Endowed Scholarship in Agriculture
    • Hard-working agriculture major with award to be used toward tuition.
  • William Hoffman Memorial
    • Major in dairy and/or animal science. Participation in dairy related activities. Minimum GPA of 2.75. Financial need.
  • Wisconsin Agri-Business Association
    • At least 45 credits completed at time of application, interest in soil fertility/plant nutrition/pest management, scholastic achievement, financial need and student activities.
  • Wisconsin Livestock and Meat Council
    • Must be a junior or senior animal science major. Award based on academic record, extracurricular activities and need.
  • Wisconsin Pork Association
    • At least 45 credits completed at time of application, animal science major with interest in swine production, scholastic achievement and student activities.
