The UW-Platteville Scholarship Program is a growing program that is funded by the UW-Platteville Foundation. During the past academic year, over $500,000 has been awarded to incoming freshman and continuing students. In addition, UW-Platteville has been the first choice of a large number of Wisconsin Academic Excellence Scholars, the valedictorians of their classes. The Foundation encourages and accepts donations from alumni, individuals, families and corporations to increase scholarship opportunities that will enhance the quality of the students attending UW-Platteville.
The scholarships described are for incoming freshmen only. Students who apply to and are accepted by UW-Platteville are eligible for a series of general university and specific college/major scholarships. Only admitted students will receive scholarship applications. The applications for scholarships must be returned to the Financial Aid Office by January 12, 2009. Committees for the scholarships will start to meet and read applications, and award scholarships immediately. It is not possible to include applications received after January 12th in this process. Applications that are submitted after January 12th may be considered for any newly donated scholarships that may become available.
The following is a listing of scholarships to be awarded in 2009-10.The awarding of scholarships, the number of scholarships, and the scholarship amounts are subject to change at any time. The eligibility criteria given are those in addition to scholastic achievement. Athletic achievement is not considered in the application process.
