The scholarships listed in this section are available to any UWP continuing student who meets the criteria specified.
- Alpha Lambda Delta Kordillia Johnson Memorial Scholarship
- Quantity: 1 Amount: $500 Must have received an invitation to join the current year's induction ceremony and be continuing on at UW-Platteville for the fall semester. Award based on academic achievement, financial need, and university/community activity. Due by March 3. If applying after February 15, you will need to use a paper application which can be obtained from the Financial Aid office.
- Alpha Lambda Delta (JoAnne Trow Scholarship)
- Quantity: 35 (awarded nationally) Amount: $1,000-3,000 National Alpha Lambda Delta will award 25 - $1,000 scholarships and 10 - $3,000 scholarships. Applicants must have been inducted into UWP's ALD Chapter the prior year and have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better. A special electronic application can be obtained from the national ALD website www.nationalald.org, and returned to advisor Wendy Stankovich, 257 Gardner Hall, by March 1. The UWP chapter will select one application to forward for the national competition. Scholarship recipients will be announced by the National ALD office. Due: March 1 (to advisor Wendy Stankovich)
- Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society (Fellowship for Graduate Study)
- Quantity: 23 (awarded nationally) Amount: $3,000 to 7,500 Applicants must be graduating members of the UWP ALD Chapter who have a 3.5 or better cumulative GPA and be entering graduate school. A special electronic application can be obtained from the national ALD website, www.nationalald.org. Applications, including all supporting materials, must be postmarked on or before January 31. Recipients will be notified by National ALD.
- Arthur Davis and Mary Williams Endowed
- Must be enrolled in any science major. Based on leadership and financial need.
- Bergmann Family Scholarship
- Must be an undergraduate with declared major in any degree program. Must have completed six credits in philosophy. Must have a minimum GPA of 2.75/4.0 scale. Applicant must creates a 600 word or less essay that addresses the following: “Select a current headline event in the news. Explain why your major is relevant to this event.” Separate application required. Stop by the Financial Aid Office for application.
- Bjarne and Lucille Ullsvik Alpha Lambda Delta Scholarships/Bjarne and Lucille Ullsvik Phi Eta Sigma Scholarships/Bjarne and Lucille Ullsvik Phi Kappa Phi Scholarships
- Quantity: 6 Amount: $500 The applicant must have 60 credits or more and must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 at the time of application. Applications will only be accepted from students who are members of one of the above named honor societies.
- Bjarne and Lucille Ullsvik Scholarship
- Potential for academic success, good moral character, concern/service to others, financial need (recipients should be students who are having difficulty in meeting educational expenses)
- Boebel Alumni Scholarship
- Applicants must be majoring in Biology, Chemistry, or any of the pre-professional health services. Must have a 3.2 overall GPA or higher. Need is not a factor.
- Bruce & Scott Johnston Memorial Scholarship
- Must be in his/her junior or senior year with a 3.0 or higher GPA. Must be a graduate from Mineral Point High School.
- Butch Leitl Memorial
- Completion of one academic year in college; a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 for all academic work completed; outstanding character, leadership ability and extracurricular activities.
- Darla (Mellor) Banfi Alpha Lambda Delta
- Must have received an invitation to join the current year's induction and continue at UW-Platteville for the fall semester. Must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher and demonstrate financial need. Due by March 3. If applying after February 15, you will need to use a paper application which can be obtained from the Financial Aid office.
- Georgeanne Freudenreich Memorial
- Women, non-tradtional student pursuing degree at UW-Platteville.
- Helen Harms Anderson
- Undergraduate woman demonstrating financial need; FAFSA must be filed.
- Helen Skemp
- Employed at Karrmann Library, GPA of 3.0+, financial need, superior library performance. Recommendation required from library supervisor.
- International Students Club
- Available to an International Students Club Member who can demonstrate interest/involvement in ISC objectives and activities. Must be a full-time student, junior or senior standing and have GPA of 2.5+. Letter of recommendation must be from an academic advisor.
- Jerry Gunderson Scholarship For Appleton West High School
- Criteria: Eligible for any Appleton West High School graduate. Preference given to students pursuing a degree in the following majors: Biology, Reclamation, Environment and Conservation, Soil & Crop Science, Chemistry, Mathematics or Fine Arts.
- Jordan C. ('52) and Dido (Overgard) ('51) Nash Endowed Scholarship
- HS senior or existing UWP student, intends to continue education at UWP, full-time during following fall term, from Sauk, Vernon, Juneau, Richland or Marathon counties, majors: EDU, ENG, AGR or CHEM
- Karrmann Family Scholarship
- For new or continuing full-time students in the top 1/3 of their class, Student must be in "good standing" and making reasonable progress toward a degree, need is not a consideration
- Kathryn Mykel Conger Memorial Scholarship
- Applicant must be a foreign student pursuing course work in education with intention of becoming a teacher or a master teacher with preference given to Asian students.
- Katie Vaassen Student Ambassador Scholarship
- Must be a junior/senior student ambassador, 3.0 GPA, must have true pioneer spirit and be a second year student amabassador with much enthusiasm, postitive attitude. Does not need to be an officer in the Student Amassador organization.
- Katie Vaassen Leader Scholarship
- Sophomore, Junior or Senior manager or support person for any Pioneer sport, club or varsity. Please stop by the Financial Aid Office for an application.
- Lands' End College Scholarship
- Applicants must be enrolled in one of the following majors:
- Business and Accounting
- Communication Technology
- Comprehensive Business and Economics
- Industrial Management and Occupational Safety
- Technology Education
- Industrial Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Software Engineering
- Any major in the College of LA&E
Students should have completed 60 credits and have a 3.0 GPA or higher. The recipient will have proven track record of leadership and participation in University and community extra-curricular activities. Must submit an up to date resume with application. Special application required. Stop by the Financial Aid Office for application.
- Leo E. Boebel Memorial
- Criteria: High school graduate of Crawford, Grant, Iowa, Lafayette, Richland or Vernon Counties. Primarily awarded to upperclassman, but incoming freshman may apply. Must major in biology, geology or pre-professional studies. GPA of 3.2 or greater. May continue for entire undergraduate program. Scholarship is for full tuition and fees.
- Marian (Kies) Linden-Pioneer Spirit
- The recipient(s) shall be a group or individual member of a group which fosters the spirit of UW-Platteville (ie Cheerleaders, Rangerettes, Marching Band, Student Ambassadors, Greek Chapter, and Resident Assistant).
- Milton and Thelma Longhorn
- Junior status before fall semester, GPA 3.25 during previous semester, financial need, academic excellence, significant participation in campus activities.
- Nancy Curtis-Jerome Daniels
- Applicant must be currently employed as a library student assistant. Must be in good academic standing. Must have letter of recommendation from library supervisor.
- Orton and Frances Keyes
- Student who demonstrates academic excellence and participates in extracurricular activities.
- Pioneer Spirit
- Primarily need based. Special needs not met by normal scholarship or student packages. Applicant should have a minimum of 2.20 GPA. Ask for specific scholarship application in the Financial Aid Office
- Roger L. Davies Scholarship
- Primary major in one of the natural sciences (astronomy, biology, chemistry, geography, physics) with a GPA of 3.0+; financial need is a secondary consideration
- Taber Family Scholarship
- Incoming UWP student, resident of Grant County Wisconsin or a county contiguous to Grant County. Preference to military veterans (National Guard or the reserve). Need is not a factor. dd>
- Tay and Anna (Francis) Dresden Scholarship
- Must be from a rural community or background. Based on financial need and potential for success. 3.5 or higher GPA on all college coursework.
- Roy and Helen Sands Memorial
- Academic achievement and campus involvement.
- UWP License Plate
- Current WI resident (based on UWP residency requirements for tuition): must show participation in co-curricular activities, outstanding leadership ability, strong character, campus involvement & academic achievement
- UWP Student Ambassador
- GPA of 2.75, minimum of 30 credits earned, evidence of outstanding leadership.
- Veterans Memorial Scholarship
- US Veteran or offspring of US Veteran. Based on need. FAFSA must be filed
