New Freshman Scholarships

The new freshman scholarships are available to new freshman that have applied to UW-Platteville and have been accepted. Once you have received your acceptance letter from the admission office, the financial aid office will send a scholarship letter explaining the scholarship application process.

In the meantime, the scholarship listing is available for review at www.uwplatt.edu/finaid/scholarships.html. First, look at those listed under the "General University Scholarship" section and mark all that apply to you. Next, look for those that are offered by your college or major. Keep track of those you are eligible for in order to select on your scholarship application.

• Obtain information from your guidance counselor: GPA, Class Rank, Class Size and ACT scores (cumulative and Math).
• Prepare your autobiographical sketch. Topics to consider: Family background, leadership activities, community service, financial need and future goals.
• Review the website for deadlines. First deadline is Feb 1, 2013. www.uwplatt.edu/finaid/scholarships.html

All applications are available on the financial aid website and deadlines will vary depending on which scholarship is being completed.
